There is an uneasy feeling of the soul when one does not communicate. I remember a fellow student of English at the University of South Carolina saying "there is nothing more powerful than the written word."
Writing, then, became both a responsibility and a burden. After teaching for 3 years, I found myself wandering away from my passion and the result was a soul saturated with a voice growing stale and unsatisfied. Getting back in the writing game has been both humbling and painful. Quite simply: my fingers feel different. My keyboard is different. I have a new voice, and it feels foreign at times.
But small success is still a step in the right direction. I proudly present my most recently published work. A small ditty about an old datsun at retrothing.com.
